SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

2024 Ag Career Scholarship

The Chaffee County Cattlemen’s Association will award one $1,000 scholarship to an eligible young adult pursuing a career in agriculture. Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • You must be a high school senior, or currently enrolled in a college degree program, or currently enrolled in a trade program, or can give evidence of an internship program and associated costs. We want to support all career paths. If you are unsure if you are eligible, just ask!  

  • You or a family member must be members of Chaffee County Cattlemen’s Association. Download a membership form here.

  • You must fully complete our application and write an original essay on “The Future of Agriculture: _________”. The essay must be no more than 500 words, typed and attached to the application. 

  • You must include a letter of recommendation from a current educator or mentor. Letters of recommendation may be emailed by the writer or attached to the application in a sealed envelope. 

  • Applicants must give permission for CCCA to share their essay and photograph on the website, facebook page, and newsletters. 

A committee will review and score applications by a rubric system. Essays will be judged by clarity, originality, and relevance to the ag industry. The scholarship recipient will be notified by May 14th.

2024 4-H Beef Scholarship

DUE MAY 1ST

The Chaffee County Cattlemen’s Association will award one $300 scholarship to support a 4-H member in their beef project. Scholarship funds may be used to purchase supplies, feed, or show clothes for this year’s fair. Eligibility requirements are as follows:.

  • You must be a Chaffee County 4-H member (junior or senior) enrolled in the beef project.

  • You must fully complete the application.

  • You must complete a budget to show how you would use CCCA funds. 

  • Applicants must give permission for CCCA to share their short answer and/or photograph on the website, Facebook page, and newsletters.

A committee will review and score applications by a rubric system. Essays will be judged by clarity, originality, and relevance to the ag industry. The scholarship recipient will be notified by May 14th.
